DNA Test
DNA paternity testing is the most accurate method for testing biological relationships. If the tested man is not the true biological father of the child, the test will show with 100% certainty. If the tested man is indeed the true biological father of the child, the test will show greater than 99.999% that the tested man is the biological father. DNA testing are absolutely conclusive and will show with certainty whether a man is the true biological father of a child.

To do a standard paternity test, a tissue or swab sample must be collected from the child and alleged father in a controlled fashion. Testing the mother is optional as paternity can be accurately determined without the mother. A DNA paternity test can be performed on individuals at any age, even while the woman is still pregnant though this is uncommon.
In some countries a dna test must be conducted with approved clinics to be used in evidence in child support or court cases. It can also be illegal to test the child without the consent of both parents.
